A fan-favorite is still strong in Season 4

In Season 4, the FARA 83 received a huge buff in Warzone and was immediately inserted into the meta. Comparatively, it has always been a strong weapon in Cold War, but it was never in the middle of the meta in Warzone. At least, not as it is now. Given how solid the FARA already was, players who are new to using it are sure to be surprised. Of course, to maximize success with the rifle, the right loadout is required.

There isn’t anything that the FARA 83 does worse than other rifles in Cold War multiplayer. It has decent damage, range, accuracy and bullet velocity. While other weapons, like the FFAR, might possess higher bullet velocity or some other stat, the FARA rarely lags behind.

This proficiency in most areas means that the loadout for the AR can be whatever players want it to be. However, there’s one top loadout that’s been in use since the FARA was introduced in Season 2 and it’s proved to survive the test of time.

  • Barrel: 18.1″ Takedown
  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: VDV 50 Rnd Fast Mag
  • Handle: GRU Elastic Wrap

With attachments like the 181.” Takedown, the FARA can match almost any other weapon’s damage output. The barrel attachment increases damage range by 150% but carries a negative to sprinting move speed. Luckily, the player’s mobility is helped along with the GRU Elastic Wrap.

Rounding out the loadout are basic attachments like the Spetsnaz Grip, Microflex LED and VDV 50 Rnd Fast Mag. The 50 Rnd Fast Mag carries a negative to ADS speed, but that’s made up by the Elastic Wrap.

This FARA 83 loadout will be useful in Cold War until Treyarch nerfs the weapon entirely.
