The 556 Icarus has been one of the most underused light machine guns in the entirety of Call of Duty: Warzone. While it’s not the most underused, it’s certainly never had a high pick rate amongst the player base. However, with the right loadout, the 556 Icarus can surprise both you and your enemies in Warzone, provided you use the LMG right.
As it’s extremely slow, you want to ensure you’re really only using the 556 Icarus at long range. If you try and take on enemies at close range, you’ll lose almost if not all of your gunfights, as you won’t be able to get your gun up quicker than the enemy in most cases. As such, staying back with the Icarus and picking off enemies from a distance is the preferred play style to use when equipping the LMG.

Best 556 Icarus loadout in Warzone
To make the 556 Icarus a competitive weapon in Warzone, players will want to increase its overall damage range and recoil control. This will allow players to kill enemies quicker and with more efficiency.
- Muzzle: Harbinger D20
- Barrel: FTAC Coldforge 16″ Barrel
- Optic: AIM OP-V4
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
- Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
The loadout begins with the Harbinger D20 suppressor and the FTAC Coldforge 16″ Barrel. Both of these attachments provide a boost to damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. Then, there’s the VX Pineapple and Sakin ZX Grip, both of which further improve the Icarus’ accuracy and stability.
Finally, there’s the Aim OP-V4 optic, which has been the preferred sight for long range gunfights since the release of Warzone. The 556 Icarus won’t win any awards as the top overall gun in Warzone, but it has a decent loadout that should serve you well as long you use it right.
