The B.R.U.T.E. won’t be vaulted in Fortnite Season X

Let the fans of chaos rejoice, for the B.R.U.T.E. will not be vaulted in Fortnite Season X. Although the vehicle is insanely overpowered and unbalanced, the mech is here to stay for the duration of the season. Thanks to the in-game challenges, the B.R.U.T.E. is a vital part of Season X, and Epic Games most likely won’t change up their plan.

Yesterday, the community was floored when Epic announced they would be neither nerfing nor removing the B.R.U.T.E. However, while the lack of nerfs makes little sense, we do now know why they won’t vault their new vehicle.

B.R.U.T.E. is a big part of Season X

Though we already knew Epic Games loves their Mech, we had no idea how much. According to Fortnite leaker RiftFNBR, the B.R.U.T.E. is needed for almost every upcoming challenge.

So, not only is the B.R.U.T.E. not going to the vault, it will become an even bigger part of Fortnite. The in-game challenges are popular missions for all players, and if a B.R.U.T.E. is needed to complete these missions, it will only increase the usage of the mech.

A logical question to ask is “why doesn’t Epic change the challenges to not involve a B.R.U.T.E.?” Well, Epic isn’t in the habit of switching directions mid-season just because of community feedback. A quick look at Season 7 and the planes will tell you that.

The only thing we can hope for now is a nerf to the B.R.U.T.E. However, a nerf will have to wait for at least another week, as the next update (v10.10) will only add a targeting laser to the mech. Maybe enough people using the #RemoveTheMech hashtag will make Epic Games see reason. If we were betting, however, we wouldn’t place much on that gamble.
