The 5 best Psychic Pokémon

5. Galarian Articuno

best psychic Pokémon

Galarian Articuno isn’t quite as good as its counterpart, Galarian Moltres, but it’s still strong. Freezing Glare is a great Psychic-type move and it can also learn Trick Room and Tailwind which are good support moves. Its stats are quite good, and it has the tools to perform well in both singles and doubles battles.

4. Hatterene

This Pokémon was a staple in Trick Room comps early in the Pokémon Sword and Shield meta, and it still performs decently. Hatterene has a very good Special Attack and a very low Speed, making it an ideal candidate for Trick Room teams. While it’s no longer the best Psychic Pokémon in the game, it’s still valuable in certain situations.

3. Indeedee-F

The female version of Indeedee is extremely valuable to teams with multiple Psychic Pokémon because of its ability, Psychic Surge. It functions as a support Pokémon with moves like Follow Me and Helping Hand. It also does a decent amount of damage due to its solid Special Attack stat.

2. Cresselia

best psychic Pokémon

Cresselia is an extremely defensive Pokémon with great support moves. It is an excellent Trick Room user and it also learns Helping Hand and Ally Switch, which helps it protect its partner in doubles battles. For its damage move, it will usually take Ice Beam or Moonblast. It is difficult to KO and can be a real pain to deal with for opponents.

1. Metagross

best Steel Pokémon

Metagross is the best Psychic Pokémon if you want an extremely offensive option. Ironically, Metagross often won’t even take a Psychic attack because it’s a physical attacker and Zen Headbutt is its only real psychic option. Nevertheless, it poses huge problems for its opponents by taking a Weakness Policy and dynamaxing. It becomes incredibly bulky and deals a massive amount of damage.
