Game Awards: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gets Persona 5’s Joker as DLC

In a strange twist of fate, Joker from Persona 5 will be entering the battle arena in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Somehow, Nintendo managed to keep this one under wraps. As Geoff Keighley continued hosting the show, the lights cut to black. Then, the screen turned red as Joker appeared, eventually getting sucked into the world of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This is sure to delight fans of the popular JRPG as well as Smash fans. Also, as part of the DLC pack, a Persona 5 stage will also be included. Check out the trailer for yourself below.

Joker joins a crowded roster. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be launching on Dec. 7. The game boasts the biggest roster and content catalog of any Super Smash Bros. game in the series before it. There will be 74 fighters available upon the game’s launch.

Eventually, Piranha Plant will join the ranks in early 2019 as well as five other DLC characters, one of which we just learned this evening will be Joker. The much-anticipated title will also feature over 100 stages with multiple variations as well as hours of musical compositions. This game is surely a defining moment for Nintendo this holiday season.

Only time will tell what other DLC characters will grace the stages of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. There is still is no word as to when we will be able to get our hands on Joker. So stay tuned as more details arrive on that front.
