After Young-jin "Gamsu" Noh’s sudden trade from the Boston Uprising to the Shanghai Dragons, Cameron "Fusions" Bosworth was called up from NA Contenders to play as a Main Tank in the Overwatch League. Three months after his debut, Fusions will start for the Atlantic All Stars team. Upcomer asked Fusions about his rapid rise to stardom, the new Workshop feature in Overwatch, and tips for aspiring All Stars.
Congratulations on making the starting roster of All Stars! Last November, you played against Jae-hyeok "Carpe" Lee and Sung-hyeon "JJoNak" Bang in the World Cup and now you’re playing on their team.
I still don’t feel like I’ve earned it, but it’s pretty sick to be honest. Watching them play last year, to playing against them in the World Cup, and then obviously playing against them now. Now to play on the same team - it’s a weird thing, like, I never thought I’d be on the same team as Jjonak and Carpe. It’s pretty crazy, and really exciting.
We saw a quote from you saying “you’ve seen Gesture’s Widow, wait til you see mine.” In an all Main Tank Widow v. Widow event, who would be the top two?
All Main Tank, I don’t know [laughs]! Me obviously, but top two, who has good aim? Bumper maybe, he’s probably one of the only people to have played another role before main tank so I’d have to go with him. Gesture’s got the best stats, so you can’t count Gesture out at this point.
Speaking of fun game modes, with the Overwatch Workshop coming out, especially given your love of Minecraft, do you think you’ll be able to take a look at it this break?
I’ve played a lot of Workshop already, but not tons of different game modes. I’m kind of playing old games, like Call of Duty had Gun Game, which was one of my favorite Arcade modes, the fact that you can do that now is pretty sick. I saw people making portal guns that actually worked, crazy stuff like Lucio wall-riding races that reminded me of CS:GO Surfing.
I think it’s great, in my opinion it’s probably the best feature they’ve added since they added the one hero limit to the ranked game mode in 2016 or 2017. I think it’s a really good change, I can’t wait to see what people do with it because I’ve already been playing it loads. I have a feeling it’s gonna be really good when it comes out on live.

What type of game modes would you want to create?
These people are way more creative than I am! Maybe a proper Infection game mode, they used to do zombies and I’ve seen some people doing that. There used to be on the old Halos where you could get the Infection game mode, and that was probably my most played arcade mode outside of Gun Game of any games in the past. If they could make something like that that could actually work, that would be pretty sick. I don’t know how you’d do it, it would take a lot of work.
Do you have any plans for the long break apart from All Stars?
Other than All Stars, I’m probably going to take the chance to just explore LA for a bit, go eat in some different places, go shopping. I don’t really have time to go home. I do, but I don’t want to because it’s just a bit of a trek for a short amount of time, so I’m going to stay here.
I got here the day before our first game of Stage 1, and we only had four days off between scrimming for Stage 1 to 2 because we had to prepare for the new meta. Now that I have a few weeks off, I want to actually do some stuff while I’m here, explore a bit, and see what LA has to offer.
Do you have any tips for fans at home on how they can be an All Star in their own competitive games?
The first thing I always say is pay attention to not just you, but your team and the enemy team as well. A lot of people will go in and just play one way and then think, “well, why am I not winning?” But if you see they the enemy Reinhardt has a low shield in GOATS vs. GOATS, you can push more, you can be more aggressive. If someone is dead on your team, you want to play more passive, you can wait it out until they get back from respawns, then you can go back and win the fight. Just really paying attention to the macro, not just yourself, but also the enemy team.
Other than that, positioning. Playing around corners as Reinhardt is the best tip I can give for basic play if you don’t want to focus on the enemy team. At some elos I understand that sometimes it’s just a constant 6v6 brawl, so just for that I would say focus on your positioning. Stay behind walls, make sure you’re not taking damage before fights start so you can go in with good HP and the advantage.
