Florida Mayhem signed support player Lee “Byrem” Seong-ju today, just two weeks before the start of Overwatch League stage three.

The South Korean player previously competed with NRG Esports (owner of San Francisco Shock, the stage two OWL champions) in the North American Contenders division. At the end of April this year, the team won third place in season one of the 2019 Overwatch Contenders North American West series.

However, on May 8, the team disbanded, leaving their players and staff with an uncertain future. This is the first pickup from the former NRG Esports Contenders roster.

Florida Mayhem made the decision to part ways with three players and two members of its coaching staff just one day before stage two. The team stated that they were looking to switch to an all-Korean roster with the addition of players such as Pan-seung "Fate" Koo. They hoped to find success in stage two with these changes, but ultimately failed, finishing the last stage with a 0-7 record.

You can watch the return of the Overwatch League All-Stars event on May 15, and stage three kicks off on June 6 with San Francisco Shock vs Atlanta Reign.
