Team Secret has defeated Team Liquid to become the 2019 MDL Disneyland Paris Major champion, securing their second win of the 2018-19 DotA Pro Circuit.

The European team looked incredibly strong all tournament, going undefeated in groups and only dropping two games on their way to the finals.

As their final hurdle, Team Secret faced TL, who’d fought their way out of the losers bracket to reach the finals. After winning game one, TL looked like they might just take the victory. But the team was denied their Cinderella story, as Michał “Nisha” Jankowski’s dominant play on Sven, and team captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov’s support play lead Team Secret to the podium.

MLD Disneyland was  a genuinely incredible tournament, with an element of magic throughout. From Mickey Mouse congratulating the winners, to just the unbeatable atmosphere of an event held in an internationally renown theme park, there was just something special in the air that was very tangible, even watching from home.

Team Secret’s number one finish pushed them to the top of the pro circuit rankings, overtaking Virtus.pro, whose disappointing performance landed them a seventh-place finish. For TL, they’ll be happy that their runner up spot has cemented their position in the top 12 teams, all but assuring their attendance to The International 2019.

There’s just one Major left on this year’s circuit: the 2019 EPICENTER Major. While many teams can relax in the knowledge their spot is secured, for some, June’s event will be their last chance to reach this year’s International.
