Yesterday, game developer En Masse Entertainment announced that their long-running MMORPG TERA will host a crossover event with popular battle royale title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Per the announcement on the developer’s website, TERA players will be able to encounter PUBG-inspired enemies and collect PUBG costumes and items during the crossover event, which will be available to all TERA players above level 60. For two hours each day, supply crates will rain from the sky in TERA’s in-game region Northern Arun. When players smash these crates—or defeat the PUBG Tuwangi guardians protecting them—they will earn various types of rewards or “Battle Points” that can be traded in for prizes.
The collaboration between PUBG and TERA is a logical one, as both games are owned by the same parent company, Krafton Game Union (formerly known as Bluehole).
“En Masse has a special fondness for PUBG,” wrote En Masse employee KitTeaCup. “We helped with alpha testing; PAX support, and housed [PUBG developers] Brendon, Shimmer, and Sammie in our offices for several months.”
The PUBG x TERA crossover will run for 30 days between March 5 and April 5. It is not the first crossover between PUBG and another popular title this year; a crossover event between PUBG Mobile and Resident Evil 2 titled “Zombie: Survive Till Dawn” went live two days ago.
Do you think a PUBG and TERA crossover makes sense?
