Karmine Corp top laner Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet will remain with the team for the 2022 season, according to Upcomer’s sources.
Sources close to the situation told Upcomer that Cabochard declined an offer from Fnatic to play for the Ligue Française de League of Legends organization. Cabochard’s contract with Karmine Corp was initially set to expire on Nov. 16 of this year. According to Upcomer’s sources, Fnatic have yet to lock in a player to replace Adam “Adam” Maanane, who is set to play for Team BDS in 2022, in the top lane.
Joining Cabochard on the revitalized roster will be former G2 Esports veteran bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, who plans to sign with the org under a 2-year deal.
Cabochard began playing professionally in 2013, and has maintained one of the longest professional careers of any active European player. During his five-year period playing for Team Vitality, Cabochard remained a constant for the team throughout multiple roster iterations.
In the summer of 2021, Cabochard joined Karmine Corp in the Ligue Française de League of Legends. Since thenhe has placed within the top two at every tournament he’s competed at, including a first-place finish for the LFL 2021 summer regular season, a second-place finish for the LFL 2021 summer playoffs, a first-place finish at European Masters 2021 summer, and, most recently, a second-place finish in the LFL 2021 finals.
Cabochard’s performance in the LFL in 2021 was no joke when looking at the numbers. During the LFL 2021 summer regular season, he had the highest experience differential at 10 minutes (XPD10) out of all participating top laners with 250 and the second-highest creep score differential at 10 minutes (CSPM) at 7.4 according to Oracle’s Elixir.

Karmine Corp fans interested in seeing the 2022 roster in action before the beginning of the season will get a chance soon. According to an announcement by Spanish streamer and content creator Ibai Llanos, an exhibition match between the Karmine Corp 2022 roster and a new LVP SuperLiga team created by Ibai and FC Barcelona’s Gerard Piqué.
