Jason “ANTi” Bates and Larry “Larry Lurr” Holland have been signed to T1 Entertainment & Sports as both players and content creators, per announcements on the organization’s Twitter account earlier today. These signings represent the prominent League of Legends organization’s first venture into the world of high-level competitive Super Smash Bros.

Both ANTi and Larry Lurr have been prominent Smash players since the late-aughts competitive heyday of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. ANTi first joined a prominent esports organization in September 2016, when he signed with Immortals on the strength of a first-place finish at supermajor CEO 2016; Larry Lurr was a member of Misfits for almost two years between 2017 and 2018.
In terms of tournament attendance, ANTi has been relatively inactive during the early Smash Ultimate metagame. Primarily using Lucario, he has placed well at local events, but his only major result this year was a less-than-stellar 97th at GENESIS 6. However, ANTi holds great value for esports organizations beyond his fabled Smash abilities, with a far-reaching social media presence and a penchant for flashy play.
Similarly, Larry Lurr has not managed to make a deep major run as of yet, but he was ranked the eighth best Smash for Wii U player of all time on the PGR100 and remains a household name within the Smash community.
Whether or not ANTi and Larry Lurr are able to up their games as the Smash Ultimate meta progresses, both are sure to put T1 on the map for droves of Smash players and spectators.
