Just before the deadline, Cloud9 have successfully made a quick roster change for their ESEA squad. The change sees Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey added to the squad officially for the ESEA roster instead of the former AWPer Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham.

Skadoodle announced his retirement from the pro scene merely a month ago. Since then, kioShiMa has been a stand-in for the American organization. He stood in immediately to help the team out at Blast Pro Series Copenhagen. Unfortunately, Cloud9 did not do so well as they finished in a disappointing fifth place. Fortunately, the former FaZe player did play up to par, sometimes even taking the lead in the fragging table. He particularly shined when Cloud9 got picked by Astralis to be their opponents in the bonus event, Pro Standoff, where the players would face each other in 1v1 duels. kioShiMa successfully defeated Emil “Magisk” Reif. Not only that, Cloud9 won the bonus event after the whole team got a total of more kills.
The transfer, however, only takes into account ESEA. It is currently unclear whether the Frenchman will join Cloud9 on a permanent basis. It does certainly look like Cloud9 are comfortable with keeping kioShiMa around. Surely, if he plays up to the standard of Robin “flusha” Rönnquist and others, the organization will at least consider bringing him on board permanently.
After today’s transfer, you will be able to see Cloud9 at ESL Pro League against Ghost with the following roster:
- Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey
- Timothy “autimatic” Ta
- Maikil “Golden” Selim
- Will “RUSH” Wierzba
- Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
- Soham “valens” Chowdhury (Coach)
Are we going to see kioShiMa replacing Skadoodle permanently? If so, who is going to be the dedicated AWP player for Cloud9? Hopefully, we will get all those questions answered soon after the ESL Pro League matches.
