To commemorate the release of The Isle of Armor, Pokémon fans will have the chance to get a shiny Zeraora. This special event Pokémon will become available through Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

This event has trainers team up against Zeraora in Max Raid Battles, with shinies potentially appearing in five-star battles. Trainers cannot actually capture these Zeraora and must instead defeat them. However, if one million players defeat one of these Zeraora, then everyone will be able to receive a shiny Zeraora. As a result, trainers from all over the world must team up to work towards obtaining this shiny prize.

If the one million-player threshold is met, then the shiny Zeraora will become available via Pokémon Home. As a result, trainers will need to have access to Pokémon Home if they want to receive this special Zeraora. In addition, players must move a Pokémon between Home and Sword or Shield during the event to be eligible.

More about the shiny Zeraora

Zeraora is a Mythical Pokémon from the Alola region, which made its debut in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Like most Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, it was previously shiny-locked. As a result, this event marks the first time that shiny Zeraora is actually available in a Pokémon game.

This Max Raid Battle event begins at 8 a.m. PDT today and lasts until June 28 at 4:59 p.m. PDT. If enough trainers beat Zeraora, then players can claim one of their own through July 6 at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Also, players can get up to 10 pieces of Armorite Ore, one for every extra 100,000 people who defeat Zeraora.

The shiny Zeraora reveal was just one of many exciting announcements made during today’s Pokémon Presents livestream. Fans can also look forward to new games like Pokémon Smile, New Pokémon Snap, and Pokémon Café Mix. With more announcements coming next week, it’s clear that Pokémon fans have a lot to look forward to.
