After being briefly teased in a match between powerhouse teams SK Telecom T1 and Royal Never Give Up, it has been officially announced that Lucian’s wife will be released into League of Legends. The new support marksman champion is named Senna with the tagline of “Shadow’s Embrace.”

Senna in League of Legends
The video clip released shows a battle between Lucian, the Purifier, and his nemesis Thresh, the Chain Warden. In the end, Lucian’s wife Senna falls to an attack by Thresh after he claims her soul with his green lantern. Lucian then states that his “[conflict] ends now” in the champion teaser video. This was shown in-game previously because when both Lucian and Thresh are loaded into a game, Thresh has Senna as a soul in his passive.
It is also reiterated in other areas with League of Legends lore. “As the terrible battle unfolded, Thresh sprung an unexpected ploy. To Lucian’s horror, the creature tricked Senna and ensnared her soul, trapping her in a spectral prison. Nothing could bring her back. Senna was lost, and for the first time, Lucian faced his mission alone,” writes the Purifier champion’s description.
First support marksman
This new champion will be League of Legends’ first support marksman champion. With the graphics shown, it seems her skills will be related to her spirit, smoke, and ghost-like look. With Thresh being shown in the video, it is likely her play style will be similar to Thresh’s as well. At the very end of the video, Senna’s eyes open up with a green glow.
This confirms a post on Reddit that Senna “came back corrupted, but in control of it,” after Lucian frees Senna. The post also states that Senna has new powers after being captured by Thresh, but Lucian doesn’t trust her anymore as she has an altered personality.
No further information has been released at this point about the champion’s abilities, but Senna will be released into the League of Legends Public Beta Environment on Oct. 28.
