According to a now-deleted report by Polygon, Hearthstone is getting a new expansion called Ashes of Outland, and it will bring a new hero class as well: Demon Hunter, whom rumors have spread about for years. The report references the public Hearthstone announcement coming tomorrow, March 17, “A storm is coming.” The first Demon Hunter hero is allegedly called Illidan Stormrage. However, some members of the community argue this could be wrong as Illidan Stormrage is already an existing Legendary card in Hearthstone.

The Ashes of Outland expansion and Demon Hunter cards

A new all-free campaign is apparently coming soon to introduce the latest hero to Hearthstone, rumored to arrive on April 2, five days before the Demon Hunter class is available. Allegedly a second story is in the works, coming later this summer, named the Rusted Legion.

Wrathscale Naga Ashes of OutlandWrathspike Brute Ashes of Outland

Along with the new hero class of the Ashes of Outland expansion come new cards. Keep in mind that these cards are leaks and could potentially not be the cards arriving in Hearthstone in the upcoming update. So far, only three Demon Hunter epic cards have leaked. Chiefly, Wrathspike Brute is apparently the dedicated anti-aggro tool for the new Demon Hunter class.

Another leaked unique epic card of the new Demon Hunter class is Wrathscale Naga. The deckbuilding community will have a field day if this card makes it into the actual game. It is essential to note the wording of Wrathscale Naga, as it deals damage to a random enemy, rather than a random enemy minion. Throughout the years of Hearthstone, cards like this have created many unique decks in the Wild Hearthstone format.

The third is Flamereaper. While a lot less interesting than the design of the other two epic cards, it is likely a potent card nonetheless.

At this time, no legendary class cards have leaked for Demon Hunter. However, it is essential to note that several leaked cards do not have a rarity attached to them again. In the past, this meant the cards were created from other sources, while not being available as playable cards on their own. One great example of this is Ysera and the dream cards she creates.
