Rocket League celebrates Third Birthday Party on July 19

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

To celebrate the third anniversary of Rocket League, developer Psyonix is hosting a public birthday party on July 19. Like last year, the event will allow players to meet the developers, play games together, and earn exclusive merchandise. Fans can RSVP online via Facebook, though this does not guarantee attendance, as the event is first-come-first-serve. Free popcorn will be on hand, and the first 1,000 attendees will receive exclusive celebratory birthday posters. Attendees can also pose for photos alongside the Jurassic Jeep Wrangler and DeLorean vehicles from the game. Furthermore, this year’s celebration is all-ages rather than being limited to patrons over the age of 21 like last year. This detail, combined with the larger venue, is sure to draw a large crowd of avid fans.

Gearing up for a Rocket League birthday

This year’s party is dialing up the extravagance. Perhaps this is due to the fact that this year marks the tenth anniversary of Psyonix’s previous title, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle-Cars, which set the foundation for their flagship title. Either way, the event will be held at Petco Park in San Diego, CA, and an array of celebrities will also be in attendance. Greg Miller will host the festivities, alongside other members of his Kinda Funny team. Continuing the tradition of wrestling and video game crossovers, WWE stars Xavier Woods and Becky Lynch will also be joining in on the fun.

In addition, a selection of professional Rocket League players from both the United States and Europe will be in attendance as well. Fans can look forward to meeting the following players:

  • Fireburner (NRG Esports; United States)
  • Kronovi (G2 Esports; United States)
  • Kuxir (FlipSid3 Tactics; Italy)
  • Paschy (Renault Sport Team Vitality; Germany)
  • Sikii (Germany)
  • Torment (Cloud9; United States)

Aside from meeting these players, fans can also view live Rocket League Championship Series exhibition matches. This selection of players is rather exciting, as NRG, Cloud9, G2, and Renault Vitaly all placed among the top ten teams for Season 5 of RLCS. Hopefully, we’ll see some friendly rivalries ignite as the players shift into Season 6.
