Complexity Gaming are close to signing the Copenhagen Flames roster, according to reports from Jaxon, Esport Fire and HLTV. The Copenhagen Flames became the hottest commodity in the post-PGL Major 2021 roster shuffles after their Cinderella run, where they were knocked out just shy of the playoffs.
According to the reports, multiple organizations approached the team to negotiate a transfer. The team wanted to stick together and turned down offers that would’ve split them up. Now, Complexity lead the way, with only the details of individual player deals holding up the process.
Copenhagen Flames as an organization have a reputation for selling their contracted talent if the price is right, with co-owner Daniel Vorborg telling press that he only wants to provide a fair salary for his players. In turn, the players have often spoken about their admiration for the Copenhagen Flames management.
In spite of their run in the lead-up to the PGL Major and at the event itself — where the Copenhagen Flames topped out as the ninth best team, according to the HLTV world rankings — the team fell off in the past weeks. Recently, the Flames suffered losses to teams like Team LDLC, 1win, Team BLINK, TTC and Savage in smaller events. They are currently ranked 14th on HLTV’s world rankings.
Complexity Gaming have been poised to acquire a lineup since they dropped most of their players in October. Most recently, on Nov. 30, 2021, the team split with their head coach Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu. The Copenhagen Flames also lost their head coach Faruk “pita” Pita when he was acquired by Dignitas, meaning the coaching staff is still undecided.
Complexity have traditionally fielded North American or international rosters.
The roster of the Copenhagen Flames is as follows:
Jakob “Jabbi” Nygaard
Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjid
Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen
Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss
