According to a report from 1pv.fr, former T1 VALORANT player Timothy “autimatic” Ta is set to return to Counter-Strike and is in talks with Evil Geniuses, alongside Team Liquid spitfire Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip. Additionally, Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte is reportedly staying in Counter-Strike after previous reports linked him to switching to VALORANT.
Evil Geniuses add new talent
According to a report from Upcomer, autimatic was set to leave VALORANT and return to Counter-Strike after less than a year in Riot Games’ FPS title. The original report did not specify where autimatic would be headed in 2022, but now it’s been revealed that he is in talks with Evil Geniuses. Autimatic was replaced on T1 by former 100 Thieves VALORANT in-game leader Josh “Steel” Nissan. The in-game leader was last seen at VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Berlin.
In addition to welcoming autimatic back Counter-Strike, Evil Geniuses are also looking to recruit the former Team Liquid rifler. Both autimatic and Stewie2k previously played together in 2018 when they were on Cloud9 and won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston. Evil Geniuses appear to want to bring back two of the core players from the previous Cloud9 roster in an attempt to replicate the success that the team once had.
Brehze to stay in Counter-Strike
It was rumored that Brehze was one of the players that trialed with 100 Thieves’ VALORANT roster during the offseason. 100 Thieves were looking to replace two players after losing steel and Nick “nitr0” Cannella after failing to make it to VALORANT Champions in Berlin. However, the report from 1pv.fr suggests that the Evil Geniuses player will be staying in Counter-Strike and not jumping the ship to VALORANT.
If Brehze stays in Counter-Strike then Evil Gensiues could look like the following, but would be missing a fifth player for the roster:
- Stewie
- Autimatic
- Brehze
- Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
- Damien “maLeK” Marcel (coach)
