Red Bull announced as partner for BIG’s League of Legends team

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Red Bull has announced an expansion of its partnership with German esports organization Berlin International Gaming (BIG). Originally a multi-year deal with BIG’s CSGO team, Red Bull has now decided to also promote their League of Legends team. This means BIG will receive sponsorship from Red Bull as well as logo placements on their jerseys. This deal is one of many coming up as the League of Legends Championship Series begins its first week of competitive matches.

Red Bull adding on to previous deal

The initial deal, established back in February 2019, was geared towards BIG’s CSGO squad. The energy drink brand took part in the launch of events and campaigns for the year. Their decision to partner with BIG’s League of Legends team will likely mean more publicity, followers, and opportunities for the organization. They announced the news via a Twitter post, linking to the video promotion.

Prime League Pro

BIG will face off against other teams on Jan. 21 in its first Prime League Pro Division match, which is part of Riot Games’ European Regional League (ERL) targeting the German market. The ERL includes 13 regional leagues and serves as a pipeline for new talent to get into the LEC. BIG will first compete against Switzerland-based team mYinsanity.

Big LoL participant

Red Bull has previously participated as a sponsor for other League of Legends teams. They had also announced their partnership with League of Legends esports back in October. As their official energy drink partner, they will participate in this year’s world championship event as well as the Mid-Season Invitational and All-Star Event.

BIG’s popular brand sponsorship is one of many announced this week for esports. Secretlab was also announced as a partner for European esports organization OG. It seems this is the perfect time for brands to present themselves to a big audience right before the start of the new esports season.
