Call of Duty: Warzone players have been having a problem with the loadouts menu. After the Season 4 update last month, Raven Software made a big change to how loadout selection worked; previously, when players pulled up their loadout screen in a lobby or loadout drop, the on-screen cursor appeared over the previously selected loadout. This made it easy for players to quickly select their favorite loadouts during the pre-game lobby. However, Raven Software thought this was too confusing for new players, so the developers changed how the cursor worked.
After Season 4, the loadout cursor appears over the first option, regardless of what players do in the pre-game lobby. This caused a major disruption in players’ muscle memory, as many were used to opening a loadout drop and pressing a single button to select their last-picked loadout. Now, players are having to scroll to pick which loadout they want to use, wasting valuable seconds in Warzone. Several fans have called for Raven Software to revert this decision.
Loadout selection changes are on the way
Fortunately, after the recent Season 4 Reloaded update, the developers revealed they would be introducing more options in regards to the loadout cursor. Before Season 4 Reloaded went live, the developers met with content creators to explain some of the changes coming to Warzone. According to the creators in the call, the developers will be changing how the loadout cursor works in the future.
There’s no exact timetable for this change, but Season 5 seems like a solid assumption. Once the change arrives, players will be able to customize how their loadout cursor works. This way, players don’t have to fiddle with the loadouts screen and change up what they’ve been doing since the beginning of Warzone.
