As the League of Legends Latin America League (LLA) continues its opening season completely online, fans excitedly watched the first match play out, ending in an unexpected result. In a 31-minute game, League of Legends team Rainbow7 knocked Gillette Infinity Esports off first place in the LLA. Rainbow7’s victory came as a surprise, as Infinity has been doing well so far. This game counts as Infinity’s second loss and Rainbow7’s seventh win for the whole season. Both teams find themselves 7-2 as they go into the second day of Week 5.
Termina el primer dÃa en esta Quinta semana de #LLA.
Para nosotros @Josedeodo fue el mejor jugador del dÃa ya que #AumentoSuVoltaje y llevó a @Rainbow7lol a la victoria. @Volt_mexico @TVAztecaEsports pic.twitter.com/zYptGsnrXJ— LLA (@LLA) March 29, 2020
While Gillette Infinity kept a good lead in last night’s game, Rainbow7 ended up defeating them at the very end. Up until the last 10 minutes, Infinity seemed like they were going win the game, with more objectives than R7. After R7 killed Baron, they were able to catch up and earn a few kills and towers. As they ended the game with 8 kills to 2, Gillette Infinity accepted the loss and hoped to do better in today’s game.
Rainbow7’s ADC Renato “Renyu” Gallegos Muñoz touted the victory on Twitter, happily stating it’s their first online win of the LLA.

Competitive weeks ahead
Additionally, the LLA announced R7’s jungler as the best player of the day, Brandon Joel “Josedeodo” Villegas. They announced him to be the next #AumentoSuVoltage player, which translates to “Increase Your Voltage.” The previous player to receive this status was Infinity’s top laner, Roberto “Straight” Guallichico.
There are only a few weeks left for the LLA Opening Season. Then the winning team will move on to this year’s Mid-Season Invitational (MSI). At the moment, All Knights is at the top with 8 wins and 0 losses. Last year’s Opening Playoffs, Isurus took the win and participated in the 2019 MSI. Although they didn’t get very far, fans had high hopes they would make it to playoffs this year. Currently, Isurus is at 6-3 as they’re scheduled to play today against Rainbow7 at 5 p.m. EST, 2 p.m. PT. If R7 happens to score another win today, they may pass Gillette Infinity Esports as number two on the top of the standings. You can watch these games play out on the official LoL Esports website.
