From now until June 4 at 5:00 p.m. PDT, you can get Galarian Ponyta from a Mystery Gift in Pokémon Sword and Shield. This is part of a four-week long event of different Galarian-form Mystery Gifts with Hidden Abilities. It started last week with Galarian Mr. Mime.
How to claim Mystery Gifts
If you want to get a Mystery Gift, you will need a Nintendo Switch Online membership and access to the internet. Once you are in-game, open the menu with X and select “Mystery Gift”, then select “Get via Internet.” Once you do this, the game will find two gifts. One of them will contain the Galarian Ponyta with Anticipation, while the other will have rare Poké Balls.
Once you claim the Galarian Ponyta, it will appear in the first open slot in your Pokémon boxes. It will be level 15 and know the moves Tackle, Growl, Confusion, and Fairy Wind. The Poké Balls will appear in your bag when you claim them.
About Galarian Ponyta
Galarian Ponyta is a Psychic-type regional variant of the Fire-type from Gen I. It evolves into Galarian Rapidash at level 42 and gains the Fairy-type. Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Rapidash were introduced to the series in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
This is a great opportunity for players to get the Pokémon with its Hidden Ability, Anticipation. Previously, players could only catch Galarian Ponyta in the wild in Pokémon Shield, and it didn’t have its Hidden Ability. While Anticipation is certainly not one of the best abilities in the game, it’s a good opportunity to add a rare event Pokémon to your collection.
This week, Trainers can claim Galarian Ponyta with the Anticipation Hidden Ability! Pick them up along with a helpful handful of special Poké Balls by following the steps below:
1⃣ In the X menu, select Mystery Gift.
2⃣ Select Get a Mystery Gift.
3⃣ Select Get via Internet. https://t.co/h9oBIkuSnS pic.twitter.com/CLjN38YK63— Play Pokémon (@playpokemon) May 29, 2020
Once the Galarian Ponyta Mystery Gift event ends, next week’s Mystery Gift Pokémon will be Galarian Corsola. Be sure to claim Ponyta and some rare Poké Balls, and stay tuned for more about the event in the coming weeks!
