Pokémon Day is on Feb. 27 and takes place to commemorate the original release of the first games in Japan. Last year on this date, Pokémon Sword and Shield were first announced. Earlier this year on Jan. 9, a Pokémon Direct revealed DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield. This year on Pokémon Day, there could be more information about the upcoming DLC.

The upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC

Currently, we know that the first part of the DLC, called the Isle of Armor, will release in June, and the second, The Crown Tundra, will release in fall. The DLC will bring over 200 more Pokémon that were not previously included in Sword and Shield, including several new ones.

In addition to learning what the new Mythical Pokémon will be, it seems likely that we will be learning the identity of some of the creatures reentering the game. There have been several pictures floating around and rumors of which ones will be, but we still only know a few.

Perhaps we will get to see what Galarian Slowpoke evolves into. This variant of Slowpoke was added to the game with the announcement of the DLC, along with some teaser images about what its evolutions might look like.

There is also the possibility that we will learn more about the DLC itself. While the Pokémon Direct showcased some visuals from the islands, we don’t know much else about them. Pokémon Day would be a great time for Game Freak to reveal some more information. Players will be eager to learn more about the islands.

There are often a number of other events and announcements on this day that aren’t related to the core game series, so be sure to stay tuned for all the upcoming news and information about Pokémon Day.
