Players not able to access Shadow of the Erdtree

Players are loving the new Elden Ring DLC - IF they can access it, that is.

Elden Ring fans have taken to Reddit to complain about not being able to access the latest DLC. The knee-jerk reaction is to blame the developers or the publisher, but it’s not quite as simple as that. Due to a slight (and I do mean slight!) oversight, you need to take one simple additional step to download the DLC on Xbox.

We do have a guide for if you can’t access Shadow of the Erdtree on console, so no stress. But it is interesting that it was done this way. I mean, I’ve never had an issue like this before (I’m on Playstation though).

Judging from the sheer amount of comments that have popped up on that thread, the issue is widespread – but as players take to the internet and figure it out, people do seem to be enjoying the new DLC.

One player from that thread claims to have already died 5 times. However, another player claimed that the game was too easy.

Whatever the case, reception has been warm apart from the access issue, and players are having fun. If you’re struggling on Playstation, here’s how to restore licences on your PS5.

Early indications from Steam are stunning, with a 91% positive score on reviews so far! So if you’re still on the fence for any reason whatsoever, I think you can take that as your green light. The DLC is worth it.
