FaZe Clan confirms that Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer is returning to the active FaZe roster.

This comes after a disappointing showing at ESL One Cologne by the team, where their expectations were to win the championship. Instead, BIG Clan, the tournaments surprise underdogs, were able to eliminate them in the semifinals. This also means that their current stand-in Jørgen “cromen” Robertsen will leave the team. It goes without saying that Cromen was impressive during his tenure with FaZe. While with FaZe, he was able to help the team reach the semifinals in three events, and also help the team win 2018 ESL One: Belo Horizonte. At ESL One Cologne, Cromen would be instrumental in multiple of their wins, with clutch moments like these:

As for Olofmeister, he is coming back from his second break in three months. He would take a hiatus back in April due to personal reasons. This came after their semifinals loss to Virtus.Pro at the V4 Future Sports Festival. He would be replaced by stand-in Richard “Xizt” Landström, for two months. However, after those two months, he would announce his return to the FaZe lineup. This announcement was premature, as many fans would learn. In June, around two weeks after his announcement stating he would be returning, he took another hiatus. He released a statement, saying that was sorry to the organization and fans, and that he was simply not ready.

Olofmeister’s Return to FaZe

Now, he returns once again in time for the 2018 ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, where he will go up against teams like Astralis, Team Liquid, MIBR, and ESL One Cologne winners, Natus Vincere. We will need to watch if Olofmeister can find his form again, especially after leaving the Counter Strike scene for so long.  His ability to play on the big stage may have been affected, and with teams looking to prove themselves, it will be a hard task to bare.

However, if there would be one person who could return with a bang, it would be Olof. FaZe Clan was one round away from facing Natus Vincere in the Finals. They were looking like the second best team at the tournament, before being upset by BIG Clan. Olofmeister’s return to the lineup should help motivate the rest of his teammates to train hard for the ELEAGUE Premier.

A Bright Future for Cromen

Cromen Olofmeister FaZe

As Cromen leaves FaZe Clan, he deserves to have his head held high. His performance as a stand-in was exceptional. Even though he did not spend a long time with the team, they were able to accomplish a lot. Many fans were even calling for FaZe Clan to sign him to the team as a permanent addition after ESL One Cologne.  He was able to show that he has the ability to play at the highest level, against the best in the world.

Cromen was not even on any teams’ radar, until FaZe took him in as a stand-in. Now, with many teams looking for fourths and fifths, you can be sure that the Norwegian will be a hot commodity going forward. A few people have been thinking that North, mousesports, Cloud9, and other underperforming teams could consider Cromen. In the end, there is no doubt that he will be playing at another premier event soon. The question is, under which banner will he be fighting for?
