As a part of the Season 3 Reloaded update in Call of Duty: Warzone, opinions of the Owen Gun submachine gun from Vanguard shifted from meta to an afterthought; The Owen Gun received some extremely harsh nerfs with the Reloaded update, making it less dominant than it had been earlier in Seasons 2 and 3. Other guns, like the Welgun, H4 Blixen and Armaguerra 43 replaced the Owen Gun as the in-meta SMGs.  However, a new loadout for the Owen Gun has emerged that effectively renders those nerfs obsolete in Warzone.

The nerfs for the Owen Gun centered around lowering its overall damage multipliers and damage range — stats that made the Owen Gun so strong previously. Since it doesn’t have a fast fire rate, the Owen Gun needs to kill extremely fast otherwise players using it will be eliminated before they can get off a few shots. Luckily, one YouTuber, TheKoreanSavage, has designed a loadout for the Owen Gun that brings it back into the fold.

Updated Owen Gun loadout in Warzone

There are a couple of key attachments changed here from the Owen Gun’s standard loadout in Warzone. TheKoreanSavage explains that the SMG’s fire rate is no longer the main problem, as it now needs increases to damage range more than anything, slightly changing what attachments players should equip.

  • Muzzle: M1929 Silencer
  • Barrel: Hockenson 142mm Rapid
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Gawain H4 Folding
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 72 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Hollow Point
  • Rear Grip: Rubber Grip
  • Perk: Acrobatic
  • Perk 2: Quick

The main change players will notice on this loadout is swapping the Recoil Booster for the M1929 Silencer in the muzzle slot. The M1929 Silencer increases recoil control in addition to damage range, which the Owen Gun desperately needs. The loadout also swaps the popular Removed Stock for the Gawain H4 Folding Stock to provide an additional boost to recoil control.

Using this Owen Gun loadout in Warzone, players shouldn’t even be able to notice the recent nerfs that occurred in Season 3 Reloaded.
