The trailer depicts The Loose Cannon Jinx as the main protagonist. Several action shots of other League characters are also seen throughout the action-packed trailer. The series’ story remains unclear, but the show is set to include several League champions.

However, it has been theorized that Jinx and Vi are the two main characters in the animated series. The pair were siblings but sparked a bitter rivalry; the show could follow the demise of the duo. As of now, however, this remains as speculation.

League of Legends: Arcane to release this fall

Although the release date for Arcane has not been revealed, this League of Legends animated series is set to drop sometime in fall of 2021.

Arcane will likely be set in several iconic locations in League of Legends lore. For example, Piltover, the centre of Valoran, is the blissful side of the industry in Runeterra. By comparison, Zaun is considered to be the dark underbelly with criminals and villains.

Several champions are known to roam both locations in the League of Legends lore: Ekko, Jinx, Vi, Jayce, Ezreal, Camille, etc. But, it’s not clear which champions, apart from Jinx and Vi, will make an appearance in the show.

The League of Legends: Arcane series was announced in October of 2019 and was set to release in 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic changed Riot’s plans and the company pushed the series’ launch date to 2021.

Riot’s co-founder Brandon “Ryze” Beck said that the company wanted to expand on the lore of the League of Legends universe.

“Originally, League started off with a bunch of characters and we threw them together really quickly. Over time, players became really attached to the characters and we wanted to build more of a universe around them,” he told the Hollywood Reporter following the announcement of Arcane in 2019.
