Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out for a week and the community has a few issues with the game. With the footstep audio being perhaps the largest problem, closely behind is the map design. Ditching the traditional three-lane design, Modern Warfare features maps with many power positions. While this is good in some cases, it usually results in players camping in rooms instead of venturing out to the middle of the map. This makes for extremely slow gameplay, which is frustrating for many players.
However, the post-launch content, including maps, will be free for all players this year according to Activision. And we now have some leaks as to which maps will be coming as part of the DLC content stream.
Which maps will be coming to Modern Warfare post-launch?
Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution, whose previous leaks about nearly all aspects of Modern Warfare proved to be accurate, has an inside source giving details about upcoming DLC maps. In his latest YouTube video, TGR goes over every leaked DLC map, including remakes of previous maps and brand new ones for each mode (6v6, 10v10, Ground War). Here is every leaked map we know of for Modern Warfare:
6v6
- Vacant
- Wet Work
- Terminal
- Shipment
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Crash
Unknown
- Farah
- Boneyard
- Caged
- Hook
Ground War
- Farms
- Train Station
- Dome TSK BG
Of course, not all of these maps will be making their way to the game at once. Infinity Ward will trickle different maps into the game over time, giving us new content without overwhelming the community. However, as previously stated, every map will be free to all players regardless of your system.
If these sources turn out to be correct, Modern Warfare has a great future. Some of the leaked maps above are widely considered the best in the Call of Duty franchise. Although, the Ground War maps could be where Modern Warfare takes the biggest leap.
According to TGR, some of these Ground War maps will be 100v100 players, the biggest ever seen in Call of Duty. Infinity Ward will allegedly take sections of the Spec Ops map and unconfirmed Battle Royale map and make those playable maps. These leaks are not confirmed in any way, however.
While it might seem rough now, Modern Warfare should have a bright future. Be sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all Modern Warfare coverage.
