Its been a long six days to kick off the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. But even on the last day of the competition, many exciting moments happened including the wildest games and the wildest champion picks. Here are the top moments from Day 6 at MSI 2022.

Player of the day: T1 Keria

When it comes to picking daily player of the days during MSI 2022, it’s most likely going to come from one of the best-performing teams. However, when looking at the top teams, one has to look past the stat line and look at what really makes a player the best of the day.

On Day 6, T1’s Ryu “Keria” Min-seok easily earned it because he went sicko mode on three hype support champions. In the first match against Team AZE, Keria locked in Pyke and led all players in the game on kills on a “support” pick. In the second game against DetonatioN FocusMe, Keria busted out the Bard for the first time in 2022. And then in the last game of the group stage, the mad lad locked in Rumble support with Cleanse and Ghost. Truly the best support player in the world.

Most memorable moment: DFM versus SGB

A lot of fans think the group stage at MSI is boring because it’s just a bunch of major region teams beating up on wild card regions. But the group stage is one of the best things about international play not because major vs. minor regions, but because when two minor regions of equal strength play against each other, sparks fly.

Good League of Legends is overrated. If a game of League of Legends is close and competitive, then that counts as good League of Legends in my book. Even better when something important is on the line.

With a game being a must-win for both Saigon Buffalo and DetonatioN FocuseMe, the two teams could have easily just played boring meta compositions. But instead, both teams threw haymakers by locking in the most exciting champion draft of the entire tournament with Vel’Koz vs. Kalista in the mid lane. Oh, and the game was incredibly close and went nearly 40 minutes. Definitely the most memorable game from the entire group stage. Hats off to SGB for picking up the win and to DFM. Bring it again next time.

Best quote: Time for a handle change

So, Saigon Buffalo are now in the Rumble stage at MSI 2022 after an impressive group stage performance. Many people are starting to learn who they are and to look for more information, they turn to Twitter to follow the official account.

I’m not making this up: Their official account name is MrBuffalo7. That sounds like something straight out of middle school. Although it’s hard to make fun of their gameplay, the League of Legends esports Twitter poked a bit of fun at their Twitter handle. Maybe it’s time for a change?

Best clip: Nerf Alcove

Many people even to this day meme about the Alcoves on Summoners Rift. People claim they were a useless introduction to League of Legends and should have never been added. Well, after T1’s Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon broke ankles in their match against SGB, that’s exactly what SGB are probably preaching about now.

What’s next at MSI 2022?

With the six-day group stage now complete, teams will have a few days to rest and recover before the Rumble stage kicks off. The six remaining teams will kick off a double-round robin starting on Friday at the usual time of 4 a.m. ET.
