Although Day 3 of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational didn’t have any upsets, there were definitely some wild moments spectators will want to remember. As for some others, they’ll want to forget. Here is the Day 3 MSI 2022 wrap-up.
Player of the day: RNG GALA
The MSI 2021 finals MVP might have had an up and down 2022 season so far, but on Day 3 at MSI 2022, Chen “GALA” Wei struck back at every single person claiming Saigon Buffalo’s Nguyễn “Shogun” Văn Huy and T1’s Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong were better than him. ‘
To be fair, though, GALA has had a rough 2022 campaign. But when it comes to performing on the international stage, it’s foolish to count him out. In RNG’s match against RED Canids, GALA put up an insane 16/3/5 kill/death/assist stat line in RNG’s 28-minute victory to go up 3-0 in the group stage. Oh, and he also had a Pentakill (plus he got close to another).
Most memorable moment: GALA Pentakill

GALA’s Lucian was disgusting. The first kill of GALA’s five in a row in this teamfight came when he was at half health and he remained that vulnerable the entire play. After a smooth side step around the enemy Nautilus, GALA picked off the enemy Viktor to secure the first Pentakill of MSI 2022. Just a few minutes later, he nearly had another. It would have been wild if he picked up the double pentakill challenge in a professional game.

What is going on, man? Cut your fingernails. Maybe if you did, you could actually beat T1.

If spectators couldn’t tell by the one-kill-per-minute pace RNG set in their game against RED Canids, RNG turned their brains off during the game and just let loose. The game was sloppy, but RNG were always in control.
Speaking of control, the team owned the map and quite literally could be anywhere in a blink of an eye. Thanks to the Hextech Dragon map, RNG decided to hack the game and add Bard to their team comp as they went on a magical journey together as a team.
