Modern Warfare to donate Outback Relief pack proceeds to Australia relief efforts

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

After an outcry from the community, Activision and Infinity Ward have announced they will be donating every dollar made off the Outback Relief pack to the relief efforts in Australia. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare cosmetic bundle costs 1,800 COD Points and includes some Australia-themed items. As most know, Australia has been devastated by bush fires over the past few weeks or so. Though things look to be slowing down, the country and its wildlife are still in disarray. You can purchase the Outback Relief pack until Jan. 31, 2020 to support a good cause and help a country in need.

Outback Relief pack to help Australia

When the Outback pack was originally released in Modern Warfare, there was no intention to help Australia. Instead, the pack was just being sold for 1,800 COD Points ($20) to any player willing to purchase it.

However, many in the community saw the obvious connection Activision and Infinity Ward needed to make. With a country quite literally on fire, there was seemingly no other option. Though it should’ve happened sooner, everyone in the community is glad Activision has stepped up. Here is their official statement on the Outback Relief pack:

As part of our efforts to help provide relief toward the devastating bushfires in Australia, we’re donating 100% of Activision’s net proceeds from each purchase of the “Outback” Pack, which we’ve renamed to the Outback Relief Pack, across all platforms through January 31st. If you’ve already purchased the Outback Pack, thank you, your purchase will count toward donation.

So, if you’ve already purchased the pack, then your money will still go to helping Australia, which is terrific. Hopefully, the Call of Duty community can at least make a dent in the efforts to help Australia in its time of need.
