Earlier today, Infinity Ward showcased the first trailer for Modern Warfare‘s Campaign mode. First leaked in Black Ops 4‘s news section, the trailer is the first official details we’ve seen or heard regarding the campaign. You can watch the trailer in its entirety here.
Along with the campaign reveal, several other details about the multiplayer and spec ops were released. From PlayStation exclusive content to pre-order rewards, there was a good chunk of information revealed.
Modern Warfare’s Campaign looks incredible
When Infinity Ward said they designed a new engine for Modern Warfare, many felt the campaign was going to benefit most. Since a new engine allows for improved visuals, the campaign was predicted to look much better than in previous years. This proved very true, as the cinematic trailer shows off some incredible graphics.

Many memorable characters are returning from previous Modern Warfare games, including Captain Price. The rumors surrounding the story of this mode are quite muddled, however. From Infinity Ward toning down the violence to some countries banning the game, we’ll have to wait and see how this mode turns out.
Spec Ops locked behind PlayStation exclusivity
Many were surprised when it was revealed there would be no console-exclusive DLC in Modern Warfare. Sony has a deal with Activision for Call of Duty exclusive deals this year, so the announcement didn’t quite make sense – until now.
At today’s PlayStation State of Play event, it was revealed Survival Mode in the Spec Ops mode would only be available to PS4 players until Oct 20, 2020. However, according to Activision, this is the only piece of exclusive content in Modern Warfare.

While this is definitely bad news for all involved, Infinity Ward did mention Survival Mode is “only 1% of Spec Ops.” Obviously, this decision was made by the higher-ups at Sony and Activision, presumably with large amounts of money involved.
Up to you, I respect your decision. We do our BEST every day to give our players the best experience possible. There are decisions that are above all of our pay grades that have to be considered. I understand your feelings, but this is much better than others I have seen.

Pre-order bonus for Modern Warfare
Along with the above information, some additional multiplayer details were revealed as well. As with every Call of Duty, there is a pre-order bonus for players within Modern Warfare. This time, it’s a weapons pack.
As well as a pre-order bonus, this pack is available for users who digitally purchase Modern Warfare. The weapons in this pack are the M4 Assault Rifle and the .357 Revolver. They come with pre-loaded attachments as well as a camo to use on the gun. Here’s what Infinity Ward said about the pack:
The XRK M4 assault rifle and XRK .357 handgun are built to be fast, accurate and hard hitting, giving you versatile options adaptable to any playstyle. They also feature unique matte bronze finish elements that help them stand out.
That’s all of the information from today! Make sure to stay tuned to Daily Esports for all Modern Warfare coverage.
