Call of Duty
The time has finally come for Call of Duty fans. After a lengthy delay due to issues out of Infinity Ward’s control, Season Four for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is now out. This is an extremely hyped season due to the length of time it’s been in development. However, there are also some key aspects of the update that players are looking forward to. These include in-match events for Warzone and new challenges for Modern Warfare weapons. Let’s take at the full patch notes for the Season Four update.
Patch notes for Season Four
For starters, this update is, once again, massive in size. It’s a running joke on social media that Call of Duty patches take up an inordinate amount of space on one’s console or PC. Though, Infinity Ward is doing its best to mitigate this issue. The developers have designed a way to download the update such that it only takes up 4 GB of space on consoles. Learn how to do so on Activision’s blog.
In terms of gameplay, there’s a lot to unpack with both Modern Warfare and Warzone. We’ll go over the key aspects of the patch, but if you wish to read the full notes, you can do so on Infinity Ward’s website.
First up, we have some new Mastery Challenges for Modern Warfare weapons. In Season Four, once you unlock gold on a weapon, new challenges unlock that come with various rewards. If you unlock every challenge for all 51 weapons, you unlock a special Sticker and Playercard. Besides this, some playlists were added to Modern Warfare multiplayer.
What’s new in Warzone?
In Warzone, a lot has changed with the new season. There are now In-Match events that can occur in any given match. These events range from shooting down armored choppers for special loot to releasing every eliminated player back into the match. The events will only occur during the middle of a Warzone match, however, so plan accordingly.
In addition to the events, new blueprints have been added along with a new Contraband Contract System. These contracts spawn in the form of briefcases but disappear after a short time. If you pick up the case, you must deliver it to a designated pickup spot. If done within the time limit, you earn some extra cash.
Lastly, two new weapons are arriving with Season Four, being the Fennec SMG and CR-56 Amax (AR). New blueprints are available for the weapons in Warzone and will be unlockable in Modern Warfare.
