Mirthwood delayed for two months

Mirthwood, a highly anticipated indie gem, has been delayed until 6 November, 2024. The two-man team at Bad Ridge decided to delay the game in order to focus on a few key areas of the game that can be further improved.

These areas include performance optimization, localization, and work on some of the in-game systems.

In the official announcement via Steam, Bad Ridge noted their surprise at having so many players interested in their game, and given the high expectations, made this decision in order to release a more fully-fleshed-out product.

This includes some of the original post-launch features, which will now be included in the game at full release.

While the delay is rather disappointing, we will end up getting more game out of the deal. Given what we’ve seen from the team and from the game so far, Mirthwood is certainly worth the wait.

If you haven’t heard about this game yet, it’s an open-world Sandbox sim much like the beloved Stardew Valley, but the likeness ends at the genre. Mirthwood features a darker world filled with dangers such as bandits and werewolves.

The medieval setting adds more freshness to the genre, with a more complex relationship system, a changing marketplace, and tons of secrets and lore around the map to discover.

This indie gem will now go live on November 6, 2024.
