On the last day of the transfer season, RNG announced that head coach Chou “Steak” Lu-Hsi would be stepping down from the coaching role. Steak previously coached the Flash Wolves team in 2018, but where he will go next is yet to be announced. In addition, the legendary jungle player Choi “Dandy” In-Kyu, who worked with RNG since Dec 2018 as an assistant coach, will leave alongside him. Directly following this announcement, RNG made sure to shock fans with the announcement of their new coaching staff.

Besides the addition of Mata to the team, Sereno will step up as assistant coach of the main RNG roster. Before this, Sereno was a part of the Royal Club coaching staff in the development league of China. Not much is known about Sereno besides his time coaching future RNG members. However, the team has put a lot of faith in his expertise over the years.

The final addition to the coaching staff of RNG today is a true old school player of League of Legends. Wong “Tabe” Pak Kan has been part of League of Legends at the competitive level since 2011. For a while, Tabe was competing in the bot lane on teams such as Invictus Gaming and Oh My God, who have since become some of the biggest teams in Chinese Esports. However, Tabe found his calling as a coach for various top teams in the scene.

Overall, the coaching staff of Royal Never Give Up for the 2020 season is shaping up to be one of the strongest in the scene. With the additions of various new players to their roster, the team is looking better than ever before. Make sure to read more about the changes to the RNG roster.
