Keith has been a staple member of Cloud9's Academy roster, and was able to bring C9 Academy a championship title in 2018. With the LCS roster, he was crucial in securing the team wins while Zachary "Sneaky" Scuderi, Nicolaj Jensen, and Andy "Smoothie" Ta were benched.

In 2017, Deftly got his NA career start with eUnited in the North American Challenger Series, and has since been with GGS's starting roster since the team's inception. After week four of the LCS, he began splitting time with Victor "FBI" Huang and playing Academy matches with Kim "Olleh" Joo-sung.

In their official statement, GGS did not disclose the reason for the trade. The team's bot lane has been has been a point of weakness since they were struggling to make playoffs in 2018. Deftly has struggled with team fight positioning, in particular. The addition of a more experienced player in Keith that could potentially float between the LCS and Academy rosters may help round out the team.
