In an effort to let more players into the PBE, Teamfight Tactics product lead Richard "MapleNectar" Henkel announced that for a portion of the day on June 21, players will have to wait 10 minutes in between games of TFT. The timer will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. PDT to 12 p.m. PDT before the PBE is taken down and redeployed.

Since the testing began, players have been suffering from unbearable queue times that kept them from trying the game mode. This change will allow a greater amount of unique players into the PBE since there will be a smaller group of people using the server to play.

According to MapleNectar, this is the best solve for long queue times while they prepare for the game mode's launch next week with Patch 9.13. Depending on how well the fix works, they may take the timer down once the PBE goes back up after updating later today.

Although the live servers are better equipped to handle a large influx of players trying to log in, these game timers are also being tested as a defense against possible login issues that may occur during the open beta launch.
