New League champion Qiyana revealed—she's an elemental solo lane assassin

She'll be able to use the powers of grass, earth, and water to fight on Summoner's Rift.

Riot finally announced the new melee assassin that was teased in April’s Champion Roadmap. Her name is Qiyana, Empress of the Elements, and she hails from a new jungle faction of Runeterra.

These champion reveals never seem long enough, but in the short clip we learn all that we need to know about Qiyana: She’s not coming to Summoner’s Rift to make friends. The weapon she’s holding also looks similar to Tira’s Ring Blade from Soul Calibur, so she’ll probably be just as OP.

True to her title, Riot said that the solo lane assassin would be able to use her power over the elements to manipulate her surroundings in unique and creative ways. Depending on what her abilities are, this could mean that she’ll be terrifyingly good at roaming.

We can see that the gemstones in her weapon seem to draw from the grass, earth, and water as she proclaims her mastery over the elements. This looks like a major hint to what some of her spells may revolve around.
