For the first time ever, fans and analysts alike can flex their backseat gaming skills to the fullest while watching LCS with Pro View. The tool has clear practical uses, but people quickly figured out some of it’s more entertaining features over the weekend.
The general consensus on Pro View seems to be that it will be a useful tool for players trying to improve their gameplay. Team Liquid ADC Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng even said in a video that one of the biggest benefits of Pro View is that it could allow coaches to be more critical of their players.
Those uses are fine and all, but it looks like after this weekend, people are more interested in seeing what funny things players are saying in all-chat.

Many of the pros are definitely wise to this, so we can expect more flame and in-game shenanigans from them in the future now that they know people are watching out for it. The overwhelming interest has even inspired players who weren’t interacting with their viewers to think up ways to do so in upcoming matches.
It’s safe to say that Pro View’s debut was a success, even if people are only using it for the memes. At least now we have something to keep us entertained during the 10 minutes farm fest that occupies most LCS early games.
