Phong Vũ Buffalo and Flash Wolves got their payback at the start of the second round robin with wins against G2 Esports and Team Liquid.
The memory of their loss against G2 at the 2018 World Championship must have stuck with PVB for the past seven months, because they showed up and utterly embarrassed the LEC spring champions. Jungler Hoàng "Meliodas" Tiến Nhật was an absolute monster on Rek’Sai as he amassed an enormous lead for his team through early game kills across the map. From there, PVB stomped G2 31 kills to 8.
Meanwhile, the Flash Wolves always knew they could beat Liquid. In an earlier interview with Upcomer, Flash Wolves’ Lu “Betty” Lu-Hung said that FW would knock out Team Liquid, and now that’s a realistic of a possibility. The two teams went blow for blow in the early game before FW gained a huge lead after an explosive teamfight around the Rift Herald.

FW pushed their momentum by using teleports from top laner Su "Hanabi" Chia-Hsiang and mid laner Shin "Rather" Hyeong-seop to collapse on TL in the sidelines. Then Betty, hard-carried, scored himself a triple kill around the baron pit, and rushed TL’s base to secure the win.
With four games left to play for each team in the tournament, now is the perfect time for the teams at the bottom of the standings to take games off the stronger teams and contest the fourth Knockout Stage slot. Both PVB and FW have proved they can put up a fight against the other teams, and their ability to escape groups or play spoiler later on will hinge on their consistency.
