The most impressive part about watching these two teams clash was FlyQuest's ability to come back from their early deficit. This was Liquid's game to lose, until some crucial misplays around the mid lane post twenty-five minutes.
FlyQuest played expertly around Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen’s Skarner, and relied on key picks to gain advantages around the map. They were able push their lead against Team Liquid in the late game and translate it into a win, something no other team in the league has managed to do.
This loss may be a small hit to Team Liquid's pride, but for FlyQuest it's an affirming victory that validates their playoff aspirations. The team has been continuously slept on all split, despite being consistently at the top of the league; after beating the first place team, they’re a much bigger threat going into playoffs.
Team Liquid were finally able to show some semblance of vulnerability today. As they look to end their split next week against Team SoloMid, the only other team to beat them this split, they cant afford to hold anything back.
