The Lunar Revel event runs from Jan. 26, 4:00 p.m. ET through March 1, 2:59 a.m. ET.
LoL Lunar Revel 2022 battle pass cost breakdown
The LoL Lunar Revel 2022 event pass can be found in the League of Legends store with a price tag of 1,650 RP. Upon purchasing the pass, players will instantly receive four Firecracker loot orbs and 200 Lunar Revel event tokens.
The pass also fully unlocks all of the premium content available in the new event. This includes 10 milestone missions, 4 weekly win missions and bonus token rewards after every game.
LoL Lunar Revel 2022 Pass Bundle
Aside from the basic battle pass outlined above, players will also find a second package available to purchase in the League of Legends store. The LoL Lunar Revel 2022 pass bundle costs 2,650 RP and comes with everything in the regular pass, along with the full Porcelain Lux skin package. This includes the Porcelain Lux skin, loading screen border and player icon. Players that don’t already own Lux as a champion will receive her as a bonus as well.
Keep in mind that this bundle only contains the basic edition of the Porcelain Lux skin. The Prestige version of the skin can only be unlocked with 2,000 Lunar Revel tokens in the event shop.
Players can find the event shop in their loot crafting menu.
Should I buy the pass or the bundle?
If you are on a budget or you don’t play Lux, the basic battle pass has everything you need and is an excellent value at 1,650 RP. This pass gives you access to several bonus mission lines, an infinite source of token farming and tons of unlockable rewards.
For Lux mains and skin collectors, the larger 2,650 RP bundle is also a solid deal. For only a 1,000 RP cost increase, buyers will receive a skin valued at 1,350 RP. This means the accompanying icon and loading screen border, which on their own cost 250 event tokens, are essentially free.
If you are on the fence between purchasing the LoL Lunar Revel 2022 pass or the bundle, we recommend purchasing the 1,650 RP pass first. This should drop the price of the bundle from 2,650 RP to 1,000 RP.
Because of the exact discount applied to the bundle, there is no downside to purchasing the pass first. You’ll then have until the last day of the event to decide if you want to pay the 1,000 RP upgrade fee to get the skin pack.
Changes to token rewards
After Riot Games’ experiment with a new repeatable mission didn’t go as planned during the Debonair 2021 event, the company has decided to revert those changes and return to the traditional “token bank mission” reward system. This means that players will once again receive a fixed number of tokens after every matchmade League of Legends game they play during the event. As always, there is no limit to the number of tokens that can be earned this way, making this the best method of farming tokens for the most active players.
The LoL Lunar Revel 2022 token drop rates are as follows:
Objective | Reward |
Win a game of Summoner’s Rift | 10 tokens |
Lose a game of Summoner’s Rift | 5 tokens |
Win a game of ARAM | 6 tokens |
Lose a game of ARAM | 3 tokens |
Win a game of ARURF | 6 tokens |
Lose a game of ARURF | 3 tokens |
Achieve a rank of 1 or 2 in TFT | 8 tokens |
Achieve a rank of 3 or 4 in TFT | 6 tokens |
Achieve a rank of 5 or 6 in TFT | 4 tokens |
Achieve a rank of 7 or 8 in TFT | 2 tokens |
With Riot’s revert back to the token bank, only matchmade player vs. player queues are eligible for rewards. Co-op vs. AI and custom games do not award any tokens like they did activity points.
Likewise, only the Normal, Ranked and Double Up queues are eligible for token rewards in Teamfight Tactics. Hyper Roll will not award players with any tokens.
LoL Lunar Revel 2022 milestone missions list
One of the primary features of any LoL event pass is the bonus list of milestone missions. Like the Worlds 2021 and Debonair 2021 events, the Lunar Revel 2022 event comes with 10 milestone missions.
This event uses Riot’s new objective points system but the requirements have been significantly reduced. Whereas the Debonair 2021 event required 12,750 total objective points to complete all 10 milestones, this event requires only 8,800.
For a quick guide on how to earn objective points, scroll to the bottom of this article.
The list of LoL Lunar Revel 2022 milestone missions and rewards is as follows:
Mission | Rewards |
Milestone 1: Score 700 points | Lunar Revel 2022 pass icon + 5 Prestige Points |
Milestone 2: Score 700 points | 10 Win XP Boost + 5 Prestige Points |
Milestone 3: Score 800 points | “Can I Eat This?” Emote + 5 Prestige Points |
Milestone 4: Score 800 points | 1,500 Blue Essence + 5 Prestige Points |
Milestone 5: Score 900 points | “Eat It While It’s Hot!” Emote + 5 Prestige Points |
Milestone 6: Score 900 points | “It’s Your Lucky Year!” Emote + 1,500 Blue Essence |
Milestone 7: Score 1000 points | Mystery Emote Permanent + 500 Orange Essence |
Milestone 8: Score 1000 points | 1 Gemstone + 1 Hextech Key |
Milestone 9: Score 1000 points | 1 Masterwork Chest + 750 Orange Essence |
Milestone 10: Score 1000 points | 1 Firecracker Orb + 1 Gemstone |
The Firecracker loot orb awarded in Milestone 10 is the same as the four bonus orbs that come with the event pass. Each orb contains a random skin shard, with a small chance at a gemstone, mythic skin or a Firecracker Grab Bag.
The Firecracker Grab Bag is a bonus loot pack. It has a 3.5% chance of dropping and contains three skin shards, with a 20% chance of containing four.
Lunar Revel weekly win missions guide
The biggest chunk of tokens available at once in the LoL Lunar Revel 2022 event comes in the form of four weekly win missions. The first of these missions is activated instantly upon unlocking the pass. The remaining missions unlock periodically throughout the event.
The weekly win missions use the same objective points system as the milestone missions above. And like the milestone missions, Riot has significantly reduced the playtime required to complete each weekly win mission.
Each of the four weekly win missions in the Debonair 2021 event required 1,650 objective points to complete. That has been reduced to 1,000 points per mission in the new LoL Lunar Revel event.
Mission | Reward | Activation Date |
Week 1: Score 1,000 points | 250 Lunar Revel 2022 tokens | Jan. 26, 4:00 p.m. ET |
Week 2: Score 1,000 points | 250 Lunar Revel 2022 tokens | Feb. 2, 4:00 p.m. ET |
Week 3: Score 1,000 points | 250 Lunar Revel 2022 tokens | Feb. 9, 4:00 p.m. ET |
Week 4: Score 1,000 points | 250 Lunar Revel 2022 tokens | Feb. 16, 4:00 p.m. ET |
While weekly win missions take longer to complete than any other mission, they don’t expire until the end of the event. This should give players ample time to complete all four missions, especially with the reduced requirements.
Furthermore, despite weekly win missions using the same points system as milestones, both can be worked on at the same time.
How to earn objective points for weekly win and milestone missions
Starting with the Debonair 2021 event, Riot implemented a new objective points system, designed to reward players uniformly for their playtime. This system is used for both the milestone missions and the weekly win missions outlined above.
To earn objective points, you simply need to play games. You’ll be rewarded 6 points per minute in any Summoner’s Rift, ARAM or ARURF game you win. A loss in any of those games awards 4 points per minute. Those rates are halved for Teamfight Tactics and reduced even further for Co-op vs. AI bot games.
Game Mode | Points if you win | Points if you lose |
Summoner’s Rift (Normal, Draft and Ranked) | 6 per minute | 4 per minute |
ARAM (Howling Abyss) | 6 per minute | 4 per minute |
ARURF and other event modes | 6 per minute | 4 per minute |
Teamfight Tactics (Normal or Ranked) | 3 per minute | 2 per minute |
Teamfight Tactics: Double Up | 3 per minute | 2 per minute |
Teamfight Tactics: Hyper Roll | 3 per minute | 2 per minute |
Summoner’s Rift: Co-op vs. AI (Bots) | 2 per minute | 1 per minute |
It’s worth keeping in mind that this is a new and experimental system. It has already been revised by Riot once. If any further changes are made, we will be sure to provide you with updates at that time.
