The LEC is at it again with great content to hype the start of League of Legends season 2020. Much like their previous viral video, we see Indiana “Froskurinn” Juniper Black being part of a hilarious promotional clip. The “2020 #LEC Spring Split Promo! (sort of…)” is quickly gaining viewers and the attention of fans all around the globe.
Froskurinn’s the director
The new LEC season is set to start on Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. CET. To get the most amount of viewers to watch it, there would have to be some eye-catching promotion happening. The almost 2-minute video shows Froskurinn yelling at a camera crew while they film a scene. She begins by yelling at Trevor “Quickshot” Henry, whom she mistakenly refers to as Phreak. As he attempts to introduce a few players, she says his excitement is not where it should be: “Where’s the hype? Finalist? Champion? This is a hype video, not a participation award.”
In the rest of the video, we also get a glimpse of League of Legends casters Daniel Drakos, Christy “Ender” Frierson, and Andrew “Vedius” Day.

The most popular scene is when she refers to Origen’s Elias “Upset” Lipp as G2’s Rekkles. Fans are pleasantly surprised with this video full of sarcasm and jokes.

Finally, at the end of the video, viewers see G2’s Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther in a large chair wearing a crown. As Upset spins Caps around, the camera goes to him and he asks, “Is it my turn now?” to which Caps responds, “No, you have to earn it!” This might be seen as a jab to other LCS promotional videos, where certain pros are portrayed as kings for being top players in the region.
As a promotion to the start of LEC season 2020, there has been a series of videos reflecting the LCS, the most recent one being the Kia Motors collaboration with over 219,000 YouTube views.
