With League of Legends’ 10-year anniversary event, many projects are being released. Along with a recently announced anime and digital card game, the multiplayer online battle arena game will reportedly have its mobile port also unveiled.

League of Legends mobile
With rumors and leaked video of League of Legends’ mobile game surfacing throughout the past year, fans are well aware that the game is in development. However, it looks like the release is even sooner than expected. The pre-registration link for the mobile game in Brazil and China was accidentally opened up before being taken down by Riot Games.
The tweet by esports consultant Rod “Slasher” Breslau shows advertisement artwork that also displays League of Legends champions Ahri, Blitzcrank, Jinx, Teemo, and Yasuo. With such coincidental timing, this is most likely another addition to the 10-year anniversary event.
Development leaked
A leaked image and video of League of Legends mobile were posted to Facebook in August. This showed off brief gameplay for a mobile version of the game’s tutorial mode and hero selection screen. Tencent is the parent company of Riot Games and created wildly popular mobile MOBA game Honor of Kings. With their wealth of experience in the mobile space and the massive audience of League of Legends, a mobile version is sure to reach new records.
In a report by Reuters, it was claimed that Riot Games initially rejected Tencent Games’ plan to create a mobile version. This is most likely because past mobile games have failed in their entry into the North America market. Mobile gaming is more popular in the East, where mobile gamers outnumber PC gamers almost 2 – 1.
Riot Games will celebrate their 10-year anniversary event with a stream that will occur at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Are you excited for a potential mobile port? Keep up with Daily Esports for all of your League of Legends coverage.
