The LCS and LCS Academy will continue the rest of their Spring Split matches this week. Earlier this month, the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic forced the LCS studio to shutter their doors away from live audiences. Shortly after, they suspended the games entirely. Fortunately, the organization has adopted an online-only format. Players will subsequently continue the tournament without leaving their training facilities.
The LCS shared the news on their official Twitter account. “Both Leagues will resume with the scheduled week 8 matches, although we’ll be shifting the Monday League games to Saturday and Sunday.”
Unfortunately, the Academy Rush will stay canceled and replaced with five Academy games for weeks 8-9.
The new LCS schedule:
- Week 8: March 21-22
- Week 9: March 28-29
- Spring Playoffs: April 4-19
- Round 1: April 4-5
- Round 1: Losers: April 7-8
- Round 2: April 11-12
- Finals: April 18-19
The new LCS Academy schedule:
- Week 8: March 19-20
- Week 9: March 26-27
- Spring Playoffs: April 2-17
- Quarterfinals: April 2-3
- Semifinals April 9-10
- Finals: April 17
Additionally, the LCS may experience broadcasting issues as games continue from several locations. General server issues may pose a problem, and they ask for patience during this time. Regardless, fans can view live broadcasts of the games on the official lolesports website.

Moving forward
Nonetheless, fans are excited to see their favorite teams continue on with the games. This weekend has been a first for many esports organizations as they’ve suspended events because of the pandemic. Luckily, spirits are still high in North American esports. The League of Legends community continues to support each other among the confusion and uncertainty that lies ahead.
Above all, they thanked their supporters and fans for sticking with them through this rough time. They’re certainly hoping this will be a smooth transition for the League and for everyone watching.
