Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist announced Thursday that they have resurrected EYEBALLERS, a defunct Swedish esports organization, with a new all-Swedish roster.
The legendary duo known for their time on Fnatic have acquired the EYEBALLERS trademark from the previous owners, according to a release on their website. JW will also fulfill the role of CEO. The organization is based out of Avesta, Sweden.
EYEBALLERS — formerly stylized as Eyeballers — was founded in 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden. The organization became known for competing in first-person shooter titles like Quake and Counter-Strike. EYEBALLERS quickly became a staple of Swedish CS after a run of success in 2004. The team folded in 2008 when the players left after failing to find strong results.
“We are very excited to bring back EYEBALLERS and use it as a platform to develop Swedish Counter-Strike and help develop new talents to new levels,” JW said in a statement. “Our long-term vision is to take back a legacy brand and make Swedish fans proud once again.”

EYEBALLERS in CS:GO
The organization will focus initially on Counter-Strike and specifically on developing Swedish talent. At one time, Sweden was the most dominant region in Counter-Strike. In recent years, that has not been the case, with only Ninjas in Pyjamas fielding a Tier 1 roster of mostly Swedish talent.
“We will measure the success of the project in a variety of ways, either we make it back to the top which is our ultimate goal — or we at least help some of the best young talents Sweden has to offer who will have the opportunity to make it to the big leagues,” flusha said.
Playing alongside JW and flusha on EYEBALLERS are three young Swedish talents: Leo “Svedjehed” Svedjehed, Casper “SHiNE” Wennerberg and Anton “Sapec” Palmgren. The team has already been competing together since February 2022 under the name Hellslayers. Recently, they failed to make REPUBLEAGUE Season 3 after falling short in a close match to K23 during the closed qualifiers.
The team’s first event under the EYEBALLERS brand will be the playoffs of Svenska Elitserien from June 10-11 at SPACE Digital Centre in Stockholm, Sweden.
