Jordan Sherman will assume the position of CEO of Immortals effective Sept. 30, 2021, replacing Ari Segal, who will be promoted to executive chairman, according to a statement released on Wednesday. The changes come amid a series of corporate promotions and a large scale reorganization of the esports and gaming organization, Immortals Gaming Club.

“There has been a lot of hard work done to get the company to this point; from here, we can grow from a position of strength and stability,” Sherman said. “Immortals will make a series of announcements over the coming weeks that will further define and describe our shared vision and the opportunities ahead.”

In the statement, IGC announced that their restructuring would split its properties into “four separate, cash-flow positive business units.” These are Immortals, MIBR, Gamers Club and LA Valiant. The two Latin American units, MIBR and Gamers Club, will continue under the current leadership of Roberta Coelho and Yuri Uchiyama, respectively. Since 2021, IGC’s Overwatch team, LA Valiant, have been run out of China through a local operating partner, LGE.

IGC’s namesake property, Immortals, began in 2015 in League of Legends when they acquired a spot in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). Since that time, they’ve launched teams in two more Riot Games, VALORANT and Wild Rift. As CEO, Sherman will now manage the day-to-day operations of Immortals.

“There is palpable energy and enthusiasm across our company that is largely attributable to Jordan,” Segal said. “He has quickly leveled up all of our functions, and commercial momentum is accelerating across multiple dimensions.”

Sherman joined IGC in May 2021 as its President & Chief Commercial Officer. He was previously the Chief Revenue Officer and Head of Revenue Operations at Gen.G. Prior to that, he held roles with the Los Angeles Clippers and at the MLB organization.

The full list of IGC’s corporate promotions is as follows:

  • Ari Segal was promoted to Co-Managing Director of IGC, Executive Chairman of Immortals and
Gamers Club, and non-Executive Chairman of MIBR.
  • Tomi Kovanen was promoted to Co-Managing Director of IGC and will serve as Executive Vice Chair of Immortals, MIBR, and Gamers Club.
  • Yuri Uchiyama, Gamers Club’s Co-Founder, will remain its CEO and has taken on the title of
    Executive Chairman of MIBR.
  • Jordan Sherman, IGC’s President and Chief Commercial Officer, was promoted to CEO of
    Immortals.
  • Roberta Coelho has been hired as the first full-time CEO of MIBR.
