Invictus Gaming Youth players move on to the big leagues

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier today, Invictus Gaming (IG) announced on Weibo that three players of their League of Legends Development League (LDL) team will join LPL teams for the 2020 season. These players were all starters on the Invictus Gaming Youth (IGY) roster, which won the LDL summer split playoffs earlier this year.

Fate moves up to the main roster of IG

The support player for IGY, Peng “Fate” Jun-Jie, will make the move to the main roster of IG for the 2020 season. Here, he will have the opportunity to train with IG’s new bot lane duo Ding “Puff” Wang and Su “Southwind” Zhi-Lin, the former duo of Vici Gaming (VG), as well as the team’s main support player, Wang “Baolan” Liu-Yi. Don’t expect Fate to see any stage time in the upcoming LPL split, however. This is most likely just the next step in his development as a player.

Forge joins Vici Gaming

Deng “Forge” Jie was the star mid laner for the IGY team. However, it was announced earlier today that he will now join the VG roster. The other mid laner currently signed with VG is Chen “Jay” Bo. Jay’s results in 2019 were nothing short of lackluster, only managing a 30% win rate throughout the year. It is rumored that Forge will become the starter for the roster, although this has not been officially confirmed.

705 signs with JD Gaming

The final IGY player to sign with a new team today is He “705” Yu-Long. 705 is currently only 17 years old, making him one of the youngest players in the LPL to be signed onto a team’s main roster. 705 will serve as the substitute player for the top lane role, alongside Zhang “Zoom” Xing-Ran. It is expected that Zoom will remain as the starting top laner for Jingdong Gaming (JDG), as he has been with the team since Dec 2017. However, now that Morgan has moved on to team World Elite, 705 may see some stage time in the upcoming split.
