The Intel Extreme Masters: Fall 2021 tournament series is now the final Regional Major Rankings event of the second half of the year, the Electronic Sports League announced on Tuesday. All six major regions — Europe, North America, CIS regions, Asia, South America and Oceania — will have the opportunity to qualify to PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Per IEM’s announcement, only Europe will compete on LAN as the rest of the regions have ongoing COVID-19 restrictions for in-person events. The combined regional IEM: Fall RMR main events will run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 10.

Each region will have at least two open qualifier tournaments with two invited teams. Europe will invite 12, while North America and the CIS regions will invite six teams to their main events. The invited teams will be based off of the RMR rankings. The tournament organizer also announced that teams qualified through the Dream Hack Open 45 will receive invites at another tournament later this year.

IEM: Fall RMR dates and prize money

Europe has the most open qualifiers in this tournament series. The action in the region starts on Aug. 28 with its first open qualifier. The next qualifiers occur on Sept. 2, Sept. 4 and Sept. 9. Its closed qualifier begins on Sept. 14 to whittle down the field to 12 for the main event, which starts on Sept. 29.

The rest of the five regions all start on the same days for their open and closed qualifiers: Sept. 9 and Sept. 11 for the open and Sept. 18 for the closed.

Europe boasts the largest prize pool with $105,000 up for grabs. North America and the CIS regions follow with $70,000 and $50,000 as their prize pools, respectively. The other three regions will have $10,000 up for the taking.

All invited teams will be confirmed by Aug. 31, according to ESL, with the main tournaments starting a month later. Europe, the CIS regions, South America and Oceania will start their main events on Sept. 29 with North America and Asia beginning on Oct. 5.

As it currently stands, EXTREMUM, Team Liquid, Furia Esports, Evil Geniuses and O Plano are the RMR qualified teams for the PGL Major.
