How to get Operator Assault Kills in MW3

The Weekly Challenges in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are usually pretty self-explanatory, but sometimes there are challenges that are confusing. One of the new Weekly Challenges in MW3 requires players to get Operator Assault Kills, which has certainly puzzled a majority of the community.

If you’re a Call of Duty veteran, then you likely have an idea as to what an Assault Kill is. However, the Assault Kills in MW3 don’t seem to track as consistently as one might expect, leading players to question what the challenge actually requires.

I managed to get all of my Operator Assault Kills in MW3, and you can see exactly what you need to do to earn them in the guide below.

What are Operator Assault Kills in MW3?

First and foremost, whenever a challenge says “Operator Kills, it means you need to kill actual enemies. You can’t go into Invasion and kill AI enemies to progress a challenge that requires Operator Kills. With that established, you’ll naturally need to go into a regular game mode within MW3.

As for what Assault Kills are, that’s another story. Assault Kills are any kill onto an enemy that is guarding an objective. This means you need to kill an enemy that is currently on an objective, such as a Hardpoint, Control point, or Domination flag. In my experience, if an enemy hops off the objective and you kill them when they’re not on it anymore, this won’t count as an Assault Kill. So you need to ensure you’re killing enemies that are on an objective for the entire time you spend shooting at them.

The best way to go about doing this is hopping into Hardpoint, as that game mode has the most consistent traffic on objectives. Domination works as well, but I recommend only staying near the B flag, as that location will have the most enemies near it.

In any game mode you choose, just stay near all of the objectives and kill enemies as they are physically in the point or on a flag. With enough luck and enemy traffic, you should have enough Operator Assault Kills to complete your Weekly Challenge in MW3.
